Penetrant Testing Method:
1.Apply a penetrant liquid containing a dye to the surface of the component. The penetrant will seep into surface-breaking defects through capillary action.
2.After removing excess penetrant from the surface, apply a developer. This developer draws the trapped penetrant out of the defects, making the flaw indications visible under visible light (for visible dye penetrant) or ultraviolet light (for fluorescent penetrant).
